New Project Alert: Large-Scale Electrical Works in Bundamba

The Q Power team has recently been engaged to complete the electrical design and construction for a large-scale project in Bundamba, Ipswich, working closely with Multi Span Australia Group.

Set for completion by March next year, this large-scale project involves the construction of a new standalone warehouse and office building 20,000 m2 in size, which is slightly larger than than two rugby fields. It is to be an extension of an existing (also large) industrial site.

The build requires complex coordination with the existing facility’s main switchboard as well as newer technologies, including a 1000A low voltage (LV) busduct reticulation system our team will install throughout the new warehouse.

By installing this system, we are providing flexibility for a future that is increasingly focussed on incorporating new, energy-efficient technologies and systems. As electrical requirements within the warehouse change, the LV system will make it easier to keep up.

In line with our core values, our environmentally friendly design also includes LED high bay lighting with light level and motion sensors, as well as emergency lighting, cable support and general power.

“This is an exciting project for us due to the sheer size of the building,” Q Power Managing Director Mike Walsh said.

“The large building footprint requires technologies not normally used on smaller projects. One of these is a complete LV busduct system we will be installing throughout the warehouse. This will provide complete flexibility for the future set-up of the warehouse LV network,” he said.

“It is great to be incorporating light level and motion sensor lighting control throughout the warehouse to provide a high level of energy efficiency.”

“We are extremely grateful to work with Multi Span Australia to deliver what we know will be a mutually successful venture.”
