Q Power (Qld) Pty Ltd recently delivered a Carpark Lighting Upgrade Brisbane project at Mortimer Rd Sports Park for Epoca Constructions. This Carpark Lighting Upgrade Brisbane improved safety, visibility and electrical reliability within a busy community sporting precinct.
Public sporting facilities across Brisbane continue to grow. As a result, well-designed carpark lighting infrastructure plays an important role in ensuring safe access for players, visitors and staff. Project Overview
The Mortimer Rd Sports Park carpark forms part of a broader precinct improvement supporting the growing number of visitors attending Souths Sports Club and surrounding sporting facilities.
The completed works delivered a new carpark providing approximately 220 additional parking spaces. The upgrade improves access to the precinct and supports the continued growth of community sport and local events.
Q Power was engaged by Epoca Constructions to deliver the electrical infrastructure associated with the new lighting installation.
Carpark Lighting Upgrade Brisbane – Project Scope
Our team delivered this Carpark Lighting Upgrade Brisbane project as a construct-only package in accordance with consultant documentation and issued specifications.
The works included:
- Isolation and removal of five existing light poles and luminaires
- Removal of two existing switchboards
- Installation of eleven new light poles with engineered foundation cages
- Soil testing and Form 15 certification for pole foundations
- Electrical civil works including conduits and pits
- Sub-mains installation and new distribution board works
- Carpark and external lighting systems
- General power reticulation
- Electrical cable supports through the existing building
- Full termination, testing and commissioning
- Preparation of as-constructed documentation
All lighting infrastructure was installed and commissioned to ensure the system operates safely and complies with current electrical standards.
Project Outcome
The completed lighting installation now provides consistent illumination across the new carpark area. This improves safety for vehicles and pedestrians accessing the precinct during evening training sessions, weekend sport and community events.
In addition, the upgraded electrical infrastructure supports reliable long-term operation of the facility. The engineered pole foundations and electrical distribution systems are designed to suit the demands of a high-traffic sporting precinct.
